Brief History
The Pontifical Commission for Justice and Peace was established in Rome in 1967. The Sudan/South Sudan Catholic Bishop’s Conference (SCBC) established a Justice and Peace Commission in 2002. The Diocese of Malakal set up Justice and Peace Commission for first time in 2004, but for some reasons the work of the Commission did not continue. The Justice and Peace Commission in the Diocese of Malakal came back into force in 2010 with Msgr.Roko Taban Musa the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Malakal appointing Fr. Mathew Pagan Padiet as the Coordinator.
